Mann Park--Overcoming limitations and building a resilient f

The project is located in the river sand dredging and flood discharge area downstream of the Yuh River Basin on the Loess Plateau, 16 kilometers away from the city center. The site has been left unused due to the significant seasonal differences in the area, with a short flood season and a long dry season, leading to a prolonged period for siltation and vegetation restoration in the river channel. The design aims to ensure smooth flood discharge during the flood season and, at the same time, to jointly create a public space where urban residents can fully relax.

The design aims to establish a harmonious relationship between ecology and infrastructure. The river surface is divided into filtering and sedimentation areas (ecological restoration zones), main transportation networks, and a grid-like infrastructure utilizes.

The embedded ecological restoration zone serves as a habitat for wild ducks and birds, providing a space for people to stay away from this area. The grid-like infrastructure utilizes stacked stone slope protection, elevated activity spaces, and support structures with anti-rust and anti-corrosion treatments to stabilize the riverbed and prevent further erosion. It also effectively addresses the issue of rain-induced floods caused by climate change. The human activity zone in the grid-like infrastructure utilizes includes a coffee station, temporary exhibition halls for niche purposes, temporary leisure open houses, a children's sandpit, landmark buildings for wedding photography, and regular venues for team-building activities and opening ceremonies. It also integrates houses for hosting events, providing new opportunities for the relationship between urban ecological foundations and public interactive spaces.
