CHINA OVERSEAS ZHENGZHOU PROTAGONIST OF TIME

The project is located at the former site of the "Zhengzhou Second Grinding Wheel Factory," now adjacent to the Zhengzhou Second Sand Cultural and Creative Park. The Zhengzhou Second Sand Factory, built with East German assistance during China's First Five-Year Plan period, was once the largest grinding wheel factory in Asia and its main plant exhibits distinct Bauhaus features. This design incorporates a series of artworks related to the Second Sand Factory, capturing the historical passage of time on the building's exterior and transforming the interior into a natural splendor that moves with the light and merges with the space, creating a three-dimensional experience.

China Overseas Group, in collaboration with DAS Design, moves beyond traditional spatial configurations. Using contemporary design principles, they transform and "rebirth" the historical imprints of Zhengzhou's old industrial past, reshaping the depth of the site. Between reality and abstraction, they seek an artistic resonance of light, space, and local culture.
