Soho Vibe

The design concept for this project was inspired by the homeowners—a couple accustomed to the high-pressure medical work environment—who longed for a sanctuary that could soothe both body and mind while capturing the free-spirited atmosphere of the Soho lifestyle. By incorporating abundant natural light and an open layout, the space exudes a bright and transparent visual quality; complemented by warm wood finishes and soft hues, it creates a comfortable and relaxed living rhythm. This "dialogue of light" not only infuses the space with energy but also brings family members closer together, allowing them to discover a rare balance and tranquility amid their busy daily lives.
The project centers on the "dialogue between light and space," utilizing large windows to invite abundant natural light while incorporating glass partitions to enhance overall transparency. At the same time, the open plan seamlessly connects the living room, dining area, and entrance, creating a spacious and smooth social area. Careful planning of the demolition work and structural reinforcements not only preserves the existing safety foundations but also creates more flexible spatial configurations.
In terms of circulation, a semi-open plan and concealed storage strike a balance between privacy and openness, allowing family members to interact within a wide visual field while maintaining their own peaceful spaces. Wall-mounted air conditioning units and concealed piping—either embedded in the walls or hidden within cabinetry—help sustain a clean, aesthetically pleasing look. The result not only fulfills the homeowners’ dual demands for high quality and comfort but also emphasizes the importance of family communication, transforming the home into a center for emotional connection.
