Kepler magnetic building blocks are like three-dimensional tangrams with 6 distinct magnetic pieces. Typically, these magnetic blocks can assemble into a rhombic dodecahedron, like traditional tangrams form a square. Additionally, you can transform Kepler magnetic blocks into various imaginative creations, such as those adorable animal figures.
The design inspiration comes from the polyhedron found by astronomer Johannes Kepler in his book "De nive sexangula" (Six-cornered Snowflakes), the rhombic dodecahedron. This polyhedron highly coincides with the hexagonal tiling of honeycombs in nature, the cubic structure of pomegranate seeds, and the growth patterns of mineral crystals, demonstrating the mathematical beauty of the forms of matter in nature.
The designer further decomposed the rhombic dodecahedron into six geometric shapes, whose volumes are multiples of each other, forming a clever three-dimensional tangram. Each face is composed of one or two identical isosceles triangles, and each isosceles triangle contains two magnetic poles, positive and negative, ensuring that any identical shapes can attract each other with stable magnetism, allowing for infinite building possibilities.
With 102 building projects and comprehensive guide videos, children can enjoy both play and learning, expanding their spatial imagination and hands-on abilities. Safe, efficient, and noiseless, these blocks are suitable for children ages 4 and up. Perfect for endless fun at home, outdoors, or in kindergarten.
