About The Entry

Rooted in the Song Dynasty’s cultural heritage and “secluded luxury” aesthetics, the Secluded Spa Retreat in Beijing reimagines that era’s refined gathering lifestyles for modern sensibilities. Catering to consumer groups like high-net-worth individuals, business travelers, and international guests, it transcends traditional hospitality—blending hot spring therapies and business social services with a unique journey into Song traditions, as if stepping into a living Song Dynasty painting.

The entire design distills the aesthetic essence of the Song Dynasty’s tangible heritage, revitalizing its spiritual core. Contemporary materials and techniques serve as conduits, fusing Song aesthetics with modern living. Adhering to the Song Dynasty’s minimalist color spectrum, the simple but elegant color scheme cultivates an atmosphere of tranquility and sophistication. In a pioneering move, the space embodies the Song philosophy of “studying the nature of things to acquire knowledge,” creating an ambiance of profound stillness and cultivated grace.

The interior design further draws inspiration from the Song literati’s four pastimes, including burning incense, brewing tea, hanging paintings, and arranging flowers. These rituals permeate every detail: the natural poetry of Chinese landscape paintings and the unadorned elegance of wood-grained elements are woven into modern furnishings, letting guests savor the unhurried elegance of Song-era life within the modern space. Additionally, integrated smart systems enhance living convenience, safeguard privacy, and evoke ritualistic resonance, culminating in a immersion into Song heritage.

Functionally, the hotel features 12 independent courtyard villas, each with distinct living, bathing, and resting zones for both privacy and comfort. Departing from traditional hospitality layouts, the design innovates a three-stage spatial progression—reinterpreting historic gathering for modern use: an entryway leads to a business social area, then transitions into a soothing landscaped area, and culminates in a serene residential space. Additionally, a dual-circulation design perfectly balances seclusion with the demands of business and social events.

Sustainability is another priority. This project integrates comprehensive eco-friendly measures, including material recycling, pollution control, and ecological preservation, setting a benchmark for the hospitality industry. The design also demonstrates thoughtful age-friendly considerations, reflecting human-centric care and aligning with the broader vision of urban renewal.
