Infinity is a public art installation situated at the Kanting incineration plant in Pingtung. Co-created by artists Lin Xi-Jun, Tsai Kun-Lin, and Cheng Chia-Chiao, the work is composed of three chapters—Departure, Reflection, and Core—presenting a journey from waste to rebirth.
Incorporating post-incineration recycled aggregate with sustainable materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and ceramic tiles, the triangular columns and sculptural forms bring to life the visual themes found in the artists’ Threshold paintings. The tallest structure stands at 12 meters, demanding precise engineering to meet seismic and wind resilience standards. Functionally, the installation supports environmental education and connects directly to the planned eco-learning center onsite. Through this integration, the facility transforms from a NIMBY site into a space of reflection and social engagement—redefining the role of public art in ecological advocacy.
