About The Entry
Drawing upon Xinjiang’s storied past as the thriving crossroads of the Silk Road, the design concept for the hotel pays tribute to the route’s diverse cultural heritage, drawing inspiration from the native colors of textiles and spices traded across regions, along with the evocative symbols of the desert, earth, and the intrepid spirit of those who ventured forth in pursuit of triumphs. From the moment guests step into the arrival lobby—evoking the grandeur of a vast canyon—they embark a sensory voyage. Each space within the hotel embodies a distinct thematic narrative: the lobby represents the pinnacle of mystical canyonscapes; the all-day dining room mirrors the vibrancy of a bustling marketplace; the Chinese restaurant reflects the lively celebrations of the Uyghur culture; the banquet hall evokes a romantic serenade under a night sky; and finally, the elevator lobby, adorned with starlit desert motifs, leads to guest rooms reminiscent of an oasis in the desert, richly infused with local character.
Through a contemporary lens, the interior design reinterprets the diverse landscapes and activities along the Silk Road. Much like Kumul’s historical significance as a vital waystation, the hotel offers travelers a sanctuary for rest and rejuvenation, inviting guests to immerse themselves in an oasis where nature, history, and ethnic culture harmoniously converge.
