Rooted in China’s 9,000-year-old Jiahu culture, the piece takes the spirit of that primordial civilisation as its beating heart. The exte-rior image is executed in traditional Eastern burnt-ink painting on Xuan paper: abstract lines trace Neolithic pottery, flutes and totemic glyphs, weaving a narrative skin that is at once austere and profound-ly weighty.
A reversible belly-band—celadon against monochrome—sets ancient next to contemporary and can be swapped at will to differentiate products while keeping the surrounding totems intact, forming a living mecha-nism of cultural transmission. The brushed texture of both porcelain and packaging speaks a material language that preserves historical gravitas yet reads unmistakably modern.
The Jiahu-Ru series fuses the site’s inscribed symbols with millenni-um-old Ru-glaze culture, letting the first light of Chinese civilisa-tion spark anew. Crafted today under ecological principles, the ware uses local Shali yellow loam and agate in the glaze. Traditional soil meets contemporary taste, inside echoing outside in a statement of Tian-Di-Ren unity—heaven, earth and humanity as one. Through touch, millennia are brought back to common sight.
