This interior design project embodies a visionary concept that resonates with contemporary sensibilities, while still remembering historical heritage.
Located within a prestigious historical district of Saint-Petersburg, the design addresses the discerning clientele's needs by creating a haven of tranquility, a deliberate counterpoint to the frenetic pace of modern urban life.
The core concept celebrates naturalness, expressed through the use of natural forms and textures, reverence for imperfection, offering respite from visual overstimulation. In essence, this design is a direct response to the pervasive sense of "overload and over-excitement".
The design philosophy centers on creating a comfortable space for individuals in the metamodern era—individuals who are accountable for their own beauty and wellness, mastering the art of living in the present moment, and embracing their unique individuality.
The clinic's aesthetic consciously avoids ostentation, instead embracing understated luxury defined by a focus on spaciousness of space, privacy, and quietness. The comfortable space is based on biophilic elements— natural materials, soft daylight and living plants.
The successful selection of a 282 m² space with high windows allowed the concept to be fully realized. Functional zoning includes a spacious reception area, a wing of cosmetology rooms, a beauty area, and technical rooms. Separation of client and staff flows using main and service entrances ensures privacy and tranquility.
The reception area is a hallmark of the project. The reception desk and the chandelier above are exclusive pieces, crafted according to the studio's designs.
The reception desk and the undulating wall behind it are covered in decorative plaster. This hand-crafted finish simultaneously connects us to nature, mimicking its imperfect texture, and also embracing the resurgent value of exquisite handcraft.
A flaw in the layout of the beauty area, with a series of walk-through rooms, was turned into an advantage thanks to the enfilade. The elimination of corridors prevented the loss of usable space. The enfilade layout creates a striking perspective, where rooms flow seamlessly into one another, creating a sense of a unified, unified space, maximizing natural light and air circulation. This technique also references the architectural heritage of St. Petersburg with its famous palaces.
