The project is situated within Beijing's Second Ring Road in Xicheng District, an area steeped in the cultural ambiance of old Beijing and a prime central location with convenient access to the main city. It is surrounded by comprehensive cultural, educational, and natural resources. The project theme, "Ancient Rhythm of the Capital Gateway, Blessings Under the Scholartree," is articulated through the design narrative of "Six Vistas within the Gateway": glimpsing the azure sky, viewing the gate tower terrace, contemplating the jade-like hall, listening to the flowing waterfall, appreciating the scholartree shade, and entering the gateway of fortune. The design inherits ritual order and honor through gatehouse structures adorned with cyan-blue glazed tiles and "Longevity Vine" patterns. The Viewing Terrace recreates the refined atmosphere of a scholarly family's collection. The form of the Han Dynasty goose-foot lamp is ingeniously translated into a modern landscape symbol. Furthermore, a century-old scholartree preserved on-site connects memories across time and space. The meticulous arrangement of multi-functional interactive spaces and landscape features condenses the poetic and pictorial unity of Eastern aesthetics into an intimate setting. It both continues the distinguished and majestic geological heritage of Xicheng District and employs a contemporary design language to construct a secluded and comfortable sanctuary. It inherits the century-old glazed tile and scholartree culture of the Imperial City, pursuing the alignment between the ultimate bespoke lifestyle and the spiritual essence of the Imperial City. While carrying forward the local cultural context, it chronicles the flowing years of the capital. Using glazed tiles and the scholartree as witnesses to the passage of time and the continuity of Imperial City culture, the project aims to create a bespoke cultural community themed on the ancient rhythm of the capital gateway and blessings under the scholartree.
