Hosted by the Tamsui District Office, New Taipei City, the annual Christmas lighting ceremony will take place romantically on the afternoon of December 6, 2025. The signature installation, "Snowlight Reflections on the Tamsui River," interprets the imagery of winter snow through light, abstractly translating the concept of crossing and connection embodied by the Tamsui Bridge. By pre-envisioning the bridge through lighting design, the engineering structure is transformed into a gentle visual language, allowing citizens to experience the sense of connection and hope carried by the bridge under the night sky. Complemented by vibrant installations such as "Star Candy Tree," "Christmas Happiness Train," "Tide-Light Corridor," and "Crystal Neon Waltz," the project creates a warm and emotionally resonant winter nightscape. Following the ceremony, the installations will remain on display until February 1, 2026, at Tamsui Old Street Locomotive Plaza and Mackay Statue Triangle Park. By integrating interactive light elements with local cultural characteristics, the project invites visitors to experience collective happiness as light flows through the city. Centered on the theme "Light and Shadow · Fairy Tale," the lighting environment integrates local identity, festive atmosphere, and perceptual interaction to create a relaxed and engaging relationship between people and space. The overall planning employs a combination of recessed lighting, projection lighting, and indirect illumination, while fully adopting high-efficiency LED luminaires. This approach significantly reduces energy consumption and carbon emissions, reflecting the values of green living and sustainable development. The design prioritizes health and environmental responsibility by using low-formaldehyde boards and environmentally certified coatings, shaping a multi-sensory environment grounded in ecological responsibility. From the initial planning, the project has been guided by the concept of an "immersive experience," connecting the Tide-Light Corridor, Star Tent Camp, and Tamsui Bridge to form a walkable and emotionally engaging journey. The design merges the Tamsui River, the bridge, the old street, and surrounding historic landscapes. Each lighting installation is a creative reinterpretation of local scenery. Interactive elements are introduced throughout, including five-point star tent seating, illuminated sculptural planters, and large-scale photo zones, allowing visitors to actively participate in the creation of light.
