The modern workday often begins with a plea for "five more minutes," yet evolves into a relentless cycle of performance and emotional exhaustion. In an era where workplace burnout has become a collective silent epidemic, many nine-to-fivers find themselves "acting" through their daily routines—navigating a friction between their authentic selves and professional expectations. Recognizing this societal shift, Chung Yuan Cultural And Creative Park (CYCC) transformed its historic industrial grounds into "The Holistic Workplace Healing Course," a conceptual exhibition designed to provide a sanctuary for the professional soul through humor and art.
Located in a former military warehouse, the design leverages the raw, high-ceilinged architecture to host a satirical "curriculum," guiding visitors through a linear spatial narrative that mirrors the repetitive loop of a typical office worker's day.
The "Course" is structured into chronological modules: from the morning alarm and the claustrophobic commute to the high-pressure meeting rooms and the brief refuge of the office pantry. Rather than traditional static displays, the project employs Scenic Installations. We featured a curated lineup of distinctive Taiwanese IP characters—including uglyrabbit, Yameme, Samurai Bunny, Shibasays, FAT BiN, and Miaotai— integrating their diverse artistic styles into physical environments. From oversized office cubicles to cozy, tatami-matted healing nooks, the boundary between 2D character storytelling and 3D spatial experience is intentionally blurred.
This exhibition redefines the warehouse heritage by offering a visual sanctuary for the modern workforce. By blending the historical weight of the site with the vibrant, rebellious spirit of contemporary IP culture, the project provides a space for fresh graduates and seasoned employees alike to find solidarity. It is a visual journey of laughter and catharsis, acknowledging the absurdity of the modern world while cultivating the emotional resilience to face another workday.
