About The Entry

Located in the core of the Jianghuai Watershed landscape belt and adjacent to National Highway 104, the Zhenggang Center Village project creates a pioneering model of "Tea-Tourism Fusion." By transforming idle highway-side land into a multifunctional hub, the design establishes a sustainable ecosystem connecting tea fields, the village, and the transportation artery. It is not merely a landscape renovation but a comprehensive rural revitalization strategy integrating ecology, production, and community life. The project adopts the philosophy of "One Road, One Leaf," respecting the native hilly topography of the Jianghuai region. Through "micro-renovation" techniques, the design preserves the original vegetation while implanting productive "edible landscapes." This approach increases the land's economic yield by 40% while reconstructing the village's public sphere through immersive tea culture themes. Historical narratives, from ancient tea traditions to wartime memories, are woven into the spatial sequence, creating a storytelling landscape where "every step reveals a scene." The spatial layout is structured around a "Highway Service Core" and three functional zones. The Core transforms idle land into a smart service station featuring modular commercial units and EV charging, serving both villagers and passing travelers. The Tea Culture Zone revitalizes the village fabric. Centered around a 90-year-old mulberry tree, a new plaza serves as a communal heart. Village architecture is renovated with tea-themed facades, blending heritage with modern aesthetics. The Industry Fusion Zone features a 300-mu ecological tea garden and a 500-sqm processing workshop that combines traditional craftsmanship with DIY experiences, supported by a livestreaming base to empower local commerce. The Local Culture Zone introduces spaces like the "Tea Village Council" and "Wellside Time," reviving collective memory and democratic community governance. The project transcends physical design to reshape social governance. The establishment of the "Tea Village Council" promotes democratic decision-making (The "Five-Step Work Method"). Economically, the project creates a hybrid income model for villagers (land rent + wages + dividends), tripling the collective income. By integrating a "Smart Tea Village" management system and improving infrastructure—such as sewage treatment and elderly housing—Zhenggang has transformed from a traditional village into a vibrant, self-sustaining community.
