LUXCORE is a speculative design project that explores how future systems of governance may evolve under conditions of climate collapse and extreme resource scarcity. Set in the year 2100, the project imagines a deep-sea settlement built to host climate migrants, where survival depends on tightly controlled technological and social infrastructures.
Rather than presenting an idealized vision of the future, Luxcore focuses on the power structures embedded within such systems. The project proposes a layered deep-sea habitat governed by a centralized platform that manages energy distribution, labor contribution, and living conditions. At the core of this system is LYRA (Life Yield & Resource Assistant), an AI-driven interface that evaluates individual productivity and allocates resources accordingly.
While the system is framed as an efficient solution for sustaining life in extreme environments, Luxcore intentionally exposes its underlying tensions. Decisions that appear neutral and data-driven gradually shape social hierarchy, access to space, and personal autonomy. Through spatial organization, interface design, and system logic, the project highlights how algorithmic governance can quietly normalize inequality.
Luxcore is not intended as a proposal for implementation, but as a critical framework for reflection. By projecting current trends in platform governance and technological management into a distant yet plausible future, the project invites viewers to question who defines value, who benefits from efficiency, and what is lost when survival becomes a calculated output.
