About The Entry
Confronting the homogenization of Foshan’s residential market, this sales gallery redefines the typology by transcending “functional stacking” to create a spatial manifesto that fuses Lingnan cultural identity with contemporary elegance—anchored by its rare ecological setting between Yiyi Lake and Ban Yue Island Wetland Park.
The design translates intangible local heritage—Cantonese opera, paper-cutting, and tea culture—into spatial rhythm and form. Notably, the fluid gestures of Cantonese opera sleeves are deconstructed via parametric modeling to generate the undulating curves of a suspended art chandelier, fabricated through zero-waste 3D printing using recycled acrylic. Spatial sequencing draws from classical Lingnan garden principles of “scene gathering,” integrating Guangfu tea rituals and panoramic lounging into a seamless visitor journey that evokes the Eastern ethos: “Form ends, meaning endures.”
A pioneering “human-pet cohabitation” concept is embedded in the model units, featuring dedicated pet zones with climbing walls and hydration stations. Floor-to-ceiling glass dissolves boundaries between interior and wetland landscape, fostering emotional connection through immersive nature integration. On average, over 60 families daily experience this inclusive lifestyle prototype.
Materiality balances opulence and authenticity: marble, leather, and brushed metal articulate refined tranquility, while locally sourced rattan (from Nanhai), linen (from Gaoming), and warm woodwork infuse organic softness. Low-saturation palettes neutralize commercial aesthetics, and dynamic lighting mimics dappled reflections on lake surfaces—enhancing sensory immersion without visual noise.
Sustainability is operationalized at every scale: 85% of soft furnishings are locally procured, reducing transport emissions by approximately 1.2 tons of CO₂; low-VOC coatings ensure indoor air quality; and an intelligent DALI lighting system cuts energy use by 32%. Visitors conclude their journey by participating in a Foshan intangible cultural heritage workshop—crafting take-home paper-cuts inspired by opera sleeves and dragon boats—transforming cultural preservation into a tactile, everyday ritual.
More than a sales gallery, this project pioneers a new urban lifestyle paradigm: one rooted in cultural consciousness, pet-inclusive design, and ecological harmony—demonstrating how architecture can carry both aesthetic grace and social responsibility into the future.
