2025 Xiao Bing Chih “Alive” Concert

For this production, the lighting design integrates closely with the stage’s physical structures, transforming the visual narrative into a spatial experience that reveals richer dimensionality through movement. The design incorporates the LED screens, overhead staggered geometric cube panels, and truss structures, using multi-level lighting positions to create layered points of light. This establishes a clear vertical hierarchy within the space, enhancing the sense of depth and spatial extension.

The opening lighting design focuses on the mechanical application of the main stage LED screen. A transformable, staircase-shaped screen allows the artist and dancers to move through and perform within the structure. Linear lighting fixtures are embedded along the edges of the steps, using rapid flashing and chasing effects to define the structural boundaries. Lighting not only outlines the form but also flows with the rhythm, extending visual movement outward from the main stage through horizontal sweeps and low-angle floor lighting.

Through the integration of lighting, stage structures, and LED screens, the design creates a visual language that is both directional and layered, allowing the audience to experience an immersive interplay of space, rhythm, and light in motion.
