Bean Buro’s design for Warner Music Taiwan creates a dynamic workplace that expresses the brand’s global identity while immersing it in Taipei’s local culture. Located in the Xinyi District near Taipei 101, the office supports both staff and artists through a carefully zoned, highly flexible environment. The design balances international consistency with local integration by sourcing materials locally, collaborating with Taiwanese partners and incorporating local artwork, which together support sustainability and celebrate the city’s creative context.
The aesthetic takes cues from Danish artist Tilde Grynnerup, combining bold patterns and dynamic elements with an earthy palette to encourage creativity against a calm backdrop. Mirrors capture views of the tree-lined promenade to blur the boundary between inside and out, enhancing connection with nature. Playful waffle ceilings and LED art installations define circulation and visually separate zones in the open plan, while intuitive flooring changes signal different modes of use, from focused work to communal collaboration.
Intricately detailed wall panelling, bespoke joinery and a central “Playful Platform” performance stage anchor the workspace and invite informal gatherings. A kinetic wall feature, musical-notation graphics and an open stainless steel kitchen reinforce the musical narrative and add a contemporary, urban character. The plan offers a spectrum of spaces, including open workstations, enclosed offices, meeting rooms, phone booths, a studio and artist room, and a multi-function room for collaboration, games and karaoke, ensuring the office can adapt to varied workstyles and events.
Well-being and environmental performance are embedded throughout, aligning with WELL principles. Neutral, calming tones are punctuated with strategic colour to maintain focus yet energise key areas, while abundant daylight, tree-canopy views and biophilic touches promote mental restoration. Acoustic treatments, open ceilings that reduce material use, glazed partitions that maximise daylight and low-maintenance vinyl flooring all contribute to comfort and sustainability. Locally sourced materials and integrated acoustic solutions support both live performances and concentrated work, resulting in a harmonious environment that nurtures innovation, collaboration and a strong sense of community.
