In the heart of Linhai, a city where the legacy of the Song Dynasty pulses through streets, this project redefines luxury living by harmonizing modern lifestyles with profound cultural resonance. It integrates a sales center with a sunken clubhouse, moving beyond the ostentatious display to offer a sanctuary of reclusive ease.

The true character of this project emerges from a thoughtful translation of local heritage. The design draws inspiration from Ziyang Street’s historic lanes and the intricate Taizhou embroidery. As visitors move through the space, the layout follows a graceful progression—from streets and alleys to courtyards and chambers—mimicking the unhurried pace of a stroll through the old city. The lace-like patterns of Taizhou embroidery are reimagined as spatial narratives, while the sharp, elegant strokes of Song Dynasty calligraphy are distilled into a sleek, minimalist aesthetic. Here, culture is not merely displayed; it grows organically within the space.

Faced with the inherent challenges of subterranean space, the project introduces the concept of a vertical garden, turning constraints into a defining highlight. Expanded light wells invite ample natural light, while focal points like cascading falls and sunken courtyards add visual interest. What was once a forgotten corner now feels open and alive—a lifestyle hub featuring a heated pool, a tranquil library, and a playful children’s area.

The ambiance is defined by serene warmth and understated luxury. The palette is drawn from the ink-washes and azures of Song Dynasty paintings, paired with the tactile comfort of matte stone and wood veneers.
