About The Entry

Taking retirement life as its starting point, the project eschews flamboyant formal expression, transforming "how time is anchored within the home" into the guiding axis of the design. The original four-bedroom layout has been reintegrated into three bedrooms, releasing a more open scale for the social area, allowing the living room, dining room, and daylight to flow with one another. Consequently, this project becomes a gentle sanctuary nurtured by time for people to dwell in. The homeowner’s vision for retirement resembles a pearl immersed in time, gradually generating its luster and remaining timelessly fresh.

" Pearlescent " manifests in the iridescent, white-toned temperament of the overall space. The entire residence adopts a warm-toned white as its base, avoiding the detachment of cool white, ensuring that light falls with greater softness while beautifully accentuating the inherent warmth of daily life. From the walls and cabinetry to the window sheers, colors advance layer by layer, mimicking the delicate and non-monotonous luster on a pearl's surface. Meanwhile, the curvilinear transitions of the ceilings and facades further soften volumetric boundaries, making the space less rigid and more enveloping. Within the white tones lie abundant daylight, emotions, and years.

"Sheen" lands on those meticulous details that cultivate a sense of refinement. Accents of rose gold titanium-plated metal serve as the most ingenious luster-filled cues across the project, distributed within display cabinets, the dining area, and selected facades, injecting a touch of low-key, understated opulence above the warm white base. The lighting design utilizes pendant lamps, cabinet backlighting, and indirect illumination to allow light to leave delicate, nuanced layers on material surfaces. This shimmering light does not mean a room full of blinding brightness, but rather the exquisite elegance and lingering resonance born from light creating sparkling reflections throughout the space.
