Jade culture, spanning thousands upon thousands of years, forms the spiritual foundation of Chinese civilization. As an ancient maxim goes, “Virtuous gentlemen compare their moral character to jade; a man of integrity never parts with jade without just cause.” Buddhism, originating in India, was assimilated and localized after its introduction to China. Over millennia, this fusion forged the craftsmanship ethos of artisans, passed down faithfully from generation to generation.
