About The Entry

For many people with low vision, finding what they need can become a daily challenge. Everyday objects, products, and personal belongings may fade into visual clutter, reducing confidence, independence, and connection to the world around them.

Lumo was created to bridge this gap. Combining AI-powered AR glasses with a mobile companion app, Lumo helps users locate, understand, and interact with objects through real-time vision-language intelligence, personalized visual cues, and audio guidance. Guidance is designed to support different vision conditions, including central vision loss, peripheral vision loss, and blurred vision.

Beyond object discovery, Lumo transforms interactions into a living memory system. Users can ask questions about the objects around them and engage in natural conversations with AI. They can save interactions, discoveries, and meaningful information as memories for future reference. Over time, these interactions become reusable memories that continue to grow and evolve.

Rather than acting as a one-time assistant, Lumo helps users build a richer relationship with the physical world, empowering greater confidence, independence, and dignity.
