About The Entry
When a young child feels unwell, pain is often difficult to explain. A child may cry, point to a body part, or remain silent, while parents and doctors try to understand what they are feeling. Children’s Pain Magic Box was created for this moment.
It is a physical-digital interactive pain expression tool that combines colorful pain-symbol blocks with a child-friendly app. Through touching, matching and selecting visual symbols, children can describe the location, type, intensity and duration of their discomfort in an intuitive and playful way. The app then organizes these choices into clear and structured symptom information.
By transforming abstract physical sensations into a visual language children can understand, the project builds a gentle communication bridge between children, parents and healthcare professionals—making consultations more efficient, less stressful and more engaging.
