About The Entry

Inspired by the architectural traditions and relaxed lifestyle of Spain and Italy, the project adopts a Contemporary Mediterranean approach tailored to Taiwan's climate and dining culture. At the entrance, a substantial arched volume recalls the solidity and depth of traditional Mediterranean masonry, creating a grounded yet welcoming presence. Given the west-facing corner location, this architectural treatment also helps reduce direct solar exposure and heat gain while creating a layered arrival sequence. The result is an understated yet recognizable brand image that introduces guests to the international character from the moment they approach.

Inside, arches, curves, and softened geometric forms continue the language of Southern European architecture. Cave-like arched windows incorporate frosted glass to diffuse natural light while preserving privacy, allowing daylight to enter with a gentle, atmospheric quality. Their vertical texture is echoed by the linear detailing of the leather booth seating and the sculpted semicircular wall panels, creating a cohesive dialogue between light, material, and form.

A restrained palette of off-white, rose terracotta, and natural wood tones reinforces the Mediterranean character without becoming overly thematic. Under warm indirect lighting, the nuanced texture of the artistic wall finishes becomes more pronounced, shaping an interior that feels tactile, relaxed, and rich in human warmth.

Reflecting the owner’s desire for guests to slow down, enjoy their meals, and spend meaningful time with family and friends, the seating plan prioritizes comfort over maximum capacity. Movable tables and chairs allow the restaurant to adapt easily to different group sizes while maintaining an appropriate sense of intimacy and personal space. Generous clearances between tables and along primary circulation routes ensure that both guests and staff can move comfortably throughout the dining area.

Operational planning is equally considered. Food preparation is centralized within an enclosed kitchen to minimize disruption between service zones, while the exterior bar integrates reception, beverage preparation, and dessert service. This arrangement improves workflow efficiency and creates a smoother relationship between front-of-house hospitality and back-of-house operations.
