Nestled in the core of Lanzhou’s old town, Sky Mirror follows the ideal of “living in a resort garden at your doorstep” to usher in a brand-new holiday lifestyle for the old downtown. Shaped by garden living and rooted in Lanzhou’s local culture, the project adopts Shanghai-style design to build an urban forest garden community at the city center. Centered on the theme of Sky Mirror, it links historical stories and natural rhythms, forming a complete landscape layout of One Axis, One Block, Three Loops & Eight Scenes, with a total landscape area of 61,000 square meters.

Breaking conventional old residential design patterns, the project adopts luxury garden hotel zoning with separate quiet and active zones, featuring eight scenic gardens inside and profound urban culture outside. A three-dimensional sunken courtyard sits at its core, with luminous stone forming a symbolic pavilion standing for thriving prospects, paired with arched bridges, natural stones and flowing water to create tranquil walking routes. A tree-lined wellness loop connects eight core scenic spots. Following the “One Grand Tree Per Garden” concept, translucent metal grilles draw natural skylight into landscapes to form exclusive light and shadow features.

Each scenic zone holds unique symbolic meanings and functions: Sky Mirror Waterfall serves as the ceremonial entrance with wild goose sculptures symbolizing good fortune and harmonious families; Cloud Lounge lets residents embrace skylight and gentle water views; Floating Islet rests above water, delivering broad views and standing for lofty aspirations; Forest Theater creates a serene atmosphere with delicate plants; Blossom Healing Garden full of blooming flowers symbolizes prosperity; Energy Mirror centers on a large tree for light sports and social interaction, representing peace; Tree Gathering Lawn with sunken lawns accommodates multi-age gatherings, reminding people to cherish time; Cloud Kids’ Paradise combines nature science and outdoor adventures for vibrant parent-child fun.

The immersive garden commercial block acts as a cultural urban third space with artistic display windows and leisure stalls. Integrating wellness, sports, parent-child and social functions, every household enjoys layered views of woods, water and courtyards, offering relaxing resort-style daily life in downtown Lanzhou.
