About The Entry

This project is located in Xi’an, the ancient capital. Drawing inspiration from the “Lishan Summer Resort Picture,” it innovatively translates the summer-retreat philosophy of High Tang imperial palaces into a modern urban wellness system. Rejecting superficial symbolic reproduction, the design balances International-Eastern aesthetics with refined luxury living. It addresses the dual needs of contemporary families in Xi’an for cultural belonging and natural ease.

The master plan establishes a ceremonial framework of one horizontal axis and two vertical axes. Three looped circulation routes foster inclusive coexistence for all ages. Forest-Isle Park inspires children’s exploration through growth metaphors. The Natural Vitality Loop and Leisurely Living Loop respond to the wellness needs of residents of all ages. The design language distills rock, timber, vegetation, and flowing water, creating an immersive multi-sensory experience across nine courtyards. More than housing, the project reimagines a sustainable lifestyle rooted in Eastern philosophy, setting a cultural benchmark for high-end living in the ancient city.

The demonstration area’s front zone is a pocket-park commercial street. Its entrance features cascading water over ribbed black stone walls, framed by sculptural pines and the “Cinda Jinhua Ode” logo. Inside, a linear promenade is flanked by reflective black pools and scattered dark rocks, leading toward distant towers. The rear zone is an Eastern sunken courtyard. A cantilevered metal-edged roof, a dramatic water curtain, and a central artistic stone wall define the space. Sunken seating, a stone bridge, moss, pines, and maples create an immersive sanctuary.
