About The Entry
Trail running is a demanding sport that requires continuous high-speed movement, frequent posture shifts, and high adaptability to varying environments. To address the persistent issue of balancing weight, weather protection, and freedom of movement in traditional hardshell jackets, this product adopts a “second skin” design approach, thoroughly re-engineering trail running protective gear across three dimensions: material, structure, and functionality.
The jacket features a 3-layer laminated construction comprising an ultra-light 5D x 7D nylon fabric, a 5-micron ultra-thin waterproof and breathable membrane, and a 7D nylon backer. By incorporating lightweight zippers, a minimalist structure, and lightweight seam-taping technology, the design reduces the total garment weight to just 120g, roughly the weight of two 60g energy gels. This represents an approximate 40% weight reduction compared to conventional 200g-class jackets, alleviating the user’s burden during long-distance runs. It utilizes a PFAS-free DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating and a PFAS-free waterproof and breathable membrane, balancing professional-grade protection with eco-sustainability. To accommodate dynamic movements like running, arm-swinging, and climbing, the design moves beyond conventional 2D tailoring. It employs an ergonomic 3D construction featuring asymmetric paneling, articulated sleeves, increased shoulder room, and a tailored waist. This approach frees up mobility in key movement zones, reducing physical restriction while maintaining a streamlined fit. The jacket achieves a 9,893 mm waterproof rating and a breathability rating of 8,570 g/sqm/24h (MVTR). Underarm vents and elastic cuffs further enhance the balance between wind and rain protection and heat dissipation.
For portability, the jacket is packable to the size of a waist pack and includes a lanyard. Reflective elements are integrated into the logo, sleeves, and sleek lines on the back, creating multi-zone, 360-degree visibility for enhanced safety in low-light conditions. Drawing inspiration from mountain topographies and high-speed motion, the design utilizes mountain-inspired paneling and a fluid silhouette to present a lightweight, dynamic, and modern trail running aesthetic.
