GREENTOWN • ORIENTAL DAWN Demonstration Area, Jinan

The project is the demonstration area of a residential development. The design defines a young, dynamic venue with an open posture and displays happy living scenes of the future built community. It aims to activate the young community, and to bring future occupants a delicate, elegant living experience.
Form:
The striking overhang and folding surfaces form the building's simple, extensible geometric shape, which conveys the concept "speed • technology". The warm-colored, three-dimensional aluminum window structure creates a distinctive visual focus and a window demonstrating future life. The street-facing facade of the second and third floors displays the imagery of mountains and water, which responds to Jinan's local cultural context and stunning natural landscape.
Environment:
The design draws inspiration from local cultural context and endows the demonstration area with a sense of modern delicacy, the interplay of virtual and real scenes and a fashionable, artistic tone. The ship-shaped building and its surrounding "forest" and "spring" landscape scenes convey the theme of "taking a dynamic ship for enjoying plants and water in a garden". The design takes advantage of the irregular plot shape to create a reasonable circulation and a well-organized spatial layout, and to highlight the theme. The building, indoor space and landscape integrate and echo with each other. The overall design takes full account of functional transformation at later stage.
The design strikes a balance between introversion and extroversion, and creates playful walking experiences between indoor and outdoor spaces. Multi-layered interior curves, such as the atrium, bring a warm, fluid spatial experience. Besides, simple yet elegant material languages set a delicate tone. All of those elements help form a richly-layered, artistic space and an intriguing circulation route.
Functions:
At the early stage, the project is used for showcasing the vision for future and revealing a young, delicate quality lifestyle in the modern era. With diversified experiential scenes including communication and family life, etc., it currently functions as the demonstration area and sales center of the residential development ORIENTAL DAWN. In the future, it will be transformed into shop space and non-staple food market through efficient conversion and adjustments.
