The project started in June 2021, and was completed in October 2021 in Xindian, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The design team planned to rebuilt the original new house with under 66 square feet space, but includes three rooms, two bathrooms, and a balcony. Through the rearrangement of the layout and the raised floor, the pipeline displacement has been solved. Furthermore, the original space is cramped, and the problems of insufficient lighting have been perfectly improved. Swap the original kitchen with the study, effectively connecting the dining and kitchen functions. Through the continuous reflection of light and shadow, the lighting characteristics of the three sides of the building are perfectly displayed.
Leisure awareness raising, get rid of the constraints of the traditional pattern of indoor environment standards. Brings more natural and simple elements to life.
In this under 66 square feet indoor space, the design of the terrace takes into account the introduction of light and the city view, creating the openness and spaciousness required for rest. The living room, dining room, kitchen, and study room form a complete hall design. Through the natural and warm characteristics of sycamore and cypress, with the extension of the linear tension of the metal, it reflects the light and becomes the most beautiful dynamic silhouette in the space.
This case is the 10th cooperation between the owner and the design team, and they had many pleasant cooperation experiences. The warm and natural touch of a home for raising 3 dogs and 2 adults, infuses the leisure and comfort of life.
The design concept is relaxing life. Under the conditions that the homeowner prefers black, gray and white. The design team not only replaced the white tone with the clear light wood color of sycamore wood, but also the black tone is outlined with iron lines. Continuation of natural texture and vertical lines, frame out the focal point of the space. The overall design emphasizes plain, pure and touch. Through material properties echo environmental sustainability issues, combined green aesthetics with modern life.
