In the "new" 'The Prince Albert', the first half of the 19th century dominates and exudes in the space. Here and now, in the 'new' space, the British has expression. Prince Albert, as a personality, besides being respected, was praised. A new pub emerges, built on the previous premises, but where royalty and the Victorian era par excellence are in breath.
Thus, the space of the pub was reformulated, the service areas were restructured and adapted to the new legal requirements, the space was changed improving functional relations. The users can now enjoy a wide, glamorous space, adequate to the period that is intended to be highlighted, where colours and materials that contribute to the image of refinement associated to the figure of Prince Albert stand out.
On the outside, the façade of the pub was restored, and the new painting was based on colours that involve the imagination and remind us of Prince Albert: red, black and gold. The royal and imposing colours of the façade help the passer-by to anticipate the theme of the interior. Lamps, flower boxes and advertisements take us back to England and contribute to the atmosphere of the 19th century, but always with a foot in the present, to which the lighting of the banners supporting the image of Price Albert contributes, as if it were a banner.
Inside, the proposed change sanitised the space. The spatial separation into two rooms, joined by the old balcony that was restored, was maintained. The colours, lighting and fabrics blend together and ennoble the pub. The ceiling, with artistic plastic treatment, takes us to a nocturnal and rich atmosphere. The metallic, golden rings illuminate, energise and bring magic to the space. The colour of the oxidised, aged copper, where browns, blues and greens mingle and are tinged, transport us to the past, which we don't want to forget. Paintings and objects remind us of the Victorian era. A painting of Prince Albert and a biographical text enrich the space and give it soul. On the other wall, antique objects proliferate. All of them have a history.
