This project is a residential building located in Taichung City, Taiwan. The structure is based on the corner of land with terrain differences. The designer cleverly uses digging and filling the balance and configuring corresponding functions and nodes to create a migratory, moving line. Combined with the stepped building appearance and gentle slope green plants, the space is quietly sewn together to create a natural residential construction. For the overall architectural appearance, the clean water mold wall and white grille are set as the visual focus to create a simple aesthetic with a sense of layering. The stair-shaped terrace, under the rhythm of vertical and horizontal division, adds a sense of dynamism to the space. By developing deep balconies and grilles on the two main facades, the designer not only solves the unfavorable climatic factors such as the sun in the west and the northeast monsoon but also allows the light and shadow to travel through the grilles to create a rhythmic effect, creating a coexistence of practicality and beauty. On top of that, the designer borrowed scenery outdoors and introduced natural elements into the building: listening to the little bird twittering in the trees, smelling the fragrance of osmanthus flowers that accompanies the monsoon, and appreciating the color change of the maple leaves, etc. The beautiful scenery of the changing seasons is attractive. Besides, simple and refined building materials with natural greenery on the exterior create a vibrant, refreshing, and comfortable look. For the exterior of the building, the designer creates a floor-by-floor retreated appearance and innovatively builds an interesting internal and external relationship. The designer creates a unique scene on each floor, giving the space a different vibe. The migratory courtyard is planned to be connected in series with the outdoors. The natural elements and an excellent viewer’s all-sensual experience are delivered within it, showing a unique sense of layering.
