At the entrance, what comes into view is a reception section constructed with a dark-gray carpet and pilot lamps. A large wall in the shape of an opened book on which the space’s actual geographical coordinates and opening date are marked, symbolizing the vision that the self-media generation will make history and turn over a new leaf here.

The reception desk features a slanted form of arc chamfer, whose black-and-white contrast and façade with solid-and-void intertwining make for a modern techy feel. The wall behind the counter is characterized by a colorful and contrastive grid light box to present media console elements which, tied with large mirrors on the ceiling and the wall on the right, serve to make the space look taller and more expansive.

The overall flow starts with the reception section at the entrance and proceeds into each individual recording studio. The main flow continues the darkroom vibe constructed through the dark-gray carpet, gray walls and gray mirrors at the reception section. On either side of the hallway, recording studios are divided with glass bricks curved round the corners so that faint light glow from inside the recording studios. Hence existing boundaries are broken with the solid-and-void transition area. The six studios are designed with different themes, including an arty touch created with light wood-tones and white fabric furnishing, a sleek and humorous inverted world, a rustic feel of lounging and picnicking in the great outdoors, an England style made up of motifs from Harry Potter novels paired with a vintage leather sofa and table of leather luggage, a girly vibe formed via a pink romantic swing chair and a garden, etc. Hopefully, by designing working places of varied styles, self-media workers can be engrossed in the recording process and let sparks fly. In this way, the goal of being “immersed in sound” will be perfectly fulfilled.
