Located in Xiamen City, China, the project is an interior planning case located in a high-rise building. The client has requested the designer to create different interior areas in the building, partially for offices and commercial purposes.
To meet the needs of individual clients, the designer has made the lobby multi-functional. It includes the functionality of the service counter and waiting area and the staircase for office staff. The overall style combines Eastern culture and Western aesthetics, which is magnificent and impressive. Upon entering the lobby, one will be amazed by the wooden partitions and stone walls intertwined in the ample space and the black iron pieces like ink lines circling the ceiling, creating a majestic scene. The designer has cleverly used mirrored materials on the surface of the beams to eliminate the sense of obstruction through reflection, allowing the space to be visually expansive. In addition, two seating areas are planned in the hall: on one side is a high space combined with a wall of books to create a magnificent atmosphere, and a sizeable ink-play landscape painting is hung to bring out the beauty of the East. On the other side, Western aesthetics are embodied by wire panel frames and classical crystal chandeliers. As one walks toward the central staircase, one will be greeted by a glorious golden space showing high-end luxury. Upstairs, the primary visual of the dining area features a “peony,” the queen of oriental flowers, combined with the color scheme of black and red to demonstrate the magical essence of the oriental culture. The warm and calm wood surface is set as the base for the space, which delivers a sense of comfort and elegance. In the other dining area, the designer has taken the local cuisine as the inspiration for the seating layout. The “Kaburitsuku Cuisine,” a combination of Japanese food culture art and Teppanyaki, allows each customer to see the chef's cooking techniques while dining and enjoy a spectacular feast of Japanese culinary art.
