The large-scale high-end residential project in Beijing is designed for a local family of three generations. Given that the owner and his/her family have been nurtured by the local culture for years, the design team inspired by the ancient architecture of the Forbidden City focuses on the “Beijing culture”, interpreting the oriental charm in a modern form to show the unique Beijing culture.

Enlightened by the lacquer ware exhibition of Zhu Yan Hua Qi (the Chinese lacquer ware of the Qianlong Reign), the design team lifts elements such as flowers, birds, bamboo, embroidery, prints and pine cranes from the architecture and palace collections of the Forbidden City in the visual display of project content, with modern trendy design and details, highlighting the theme of “Beijing culture” and luxury and the nobility of palace while meeting the strict requirements of the owners for the quality of life. As the main materials of soft and hard furnishings, gold-stone leather and wood are the carriers of the elements of the Forbidden City, combined with rigorous splicing and relief techniques, bringing the project to another level in style with original texture while echoing the times.

Thanks to the conscious spatial layout, the overall artistic atmosphere comes in layers in terms of visual expression. Different from the conventional rigid line planning, the public area adopts a “get rid of living room” design, blurring the boundaries of each functional block. And together with bright lighting performance, it presents a grand and dignified atmosphere like a palace, providing the owner with a highly free communication space. The private area is cleverly partitioned to bring the sense of being in the palace wall, meeting the psychological need for privacy, and combining with the public area to truly reproduce the complete appearance of the Forbidden City.
