“ The 24 Middle Gap Road ” is a luxurious residential house located on Victoria Peak, Hong Kong Island, China. Perched on a verdant mountaintop, the Victorian-style house consists of two storeys and a basement. The designer arrangements for the garden and rooftop of this house are as follows:



(1) The garden which surrounds the house is 918 sm in area. It is divided into three sections:

--The main entrance and the lane leading to the garage as defined by trees and a fountain.

--The middle of the garden is a lawn that could allow the landing of a helicopter. There is a path leading from the lawn to the casual sitting area of the swimming pool.

-- Next to the swimming pool and the casual sitting area are amenities such as outdoor sofa sets and a tabletop fireplace.



(2) Rooftop sky garden

The rooftop sky garden is divided into two levels to give a sense of gradation to the dining area and sitting area. The floor of the lower-level dining area is fashioned into a chevron pattern of natural stone tiles to contrast with the outdoor wooden flooring of the upper-level sitting area. The juxtaposing of natural materials highlights the thoughts going into the layout of the rooftop garden. On each side of the stairs connecting the two levels is a pond where a tall tree is planted. The sound of water dripping out of the ponds as well as the trees contribute to the natural environment.
