The project was based on the national strategy of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, the life demands of "Shanghai drifters''(young people who come to Shanghai for work ) and the urban background of the Shanghai's epidemic. The design interprets the needs of the standard plots of affordable rental housing in Shanghai, and proposes the concept of urban pastoral community. The core concept takes functional penetration, multiple superposition, and interactive sharing as the functional strategy, the ground floor opening, centripetal layout, and stereo neighborhood as the spatial strategy, the energy farm, kinetic energy recovery, and green material application as the "double carbon" strategy. Finally, let the architectural design respond to the city's expectations, and create a model of affordable rental housing with warmth, temperament and pleasant life in Shanghai.
