Young at Heart

This is the core exhibition area of Taiwan Design EXPO, in which designers who grew up in Kaohsiung or who started their careers there participate.

Youth, the future pillars of our city, will lead tomorrow. Particularly in city-building, the power of youth is the founding head of its idealism.



Only youth, the wonderful time in life when there are no limits to human achievement and creativity is at its best, can provide new impetus and shape the future of a city. Kaohsiung, an incubator for boosting young creative entrepreneurs and design talents in Taiwan, has been irrigating the creative spirit of youth, where the never say die attitude of young entrepreneurs motivates us to think about our everyday life differently and changes our vision for the future.

Youth: An Attitude, Not a Number. Keep Fit to Stay Young at Heart.

Young designers, some of whom lived in Kaohsiung for a little while, some are rooted in Kaohsiung. They have gained inspiration and creative nutrition from exhibitions and projects like Youth Innovative Design Festival, Pier-2 Art Center Designer-in-Residence Program, and Pier-2 SuperNovas, which helped them cultivate their growth mindset and empowered them as entrepreneurs. One can’t help wondering how they are to tell tales of their encounters with Kaohsiung while young when each one of them comes back to the city.

Stepping into miniature container ports, where, one after another, every art creator whose creativity cultivated and powered up for years releases magnetic creative energy and outshines the rest, one could see, through one-of-a-kind IG Story filers, how young design talents take the lead in creating a further impact on cultural and creative industries and how they are to rewrite the world with their new philosophy. Young creatives unlock and nurture their creativity and keep generating innovative ideas here in Kaohsiung, a city like no other.
