Based on the Japanese Wabi-sabi aesthetic, the design works on a careful sunlight analysis and energy-efficient lighting plan and lays out a 3-dimensional flow and structural restoration to create a grand and elegant space perfect for an international enterprise. Apart from aesthetic and functional bids, the design also endeavors to make the space friendly to its users and maintenance workers. The office has a symmetrical hexagonal layout for office automation. In light of the pandemic, the spatial design of the office has been adapted to Work From Home, video conferencing, and pandemic prevention measures. Highly adjustable office furniture is arranged in such a way that the new model of Free Address without fixed seating is friendlier and closer to human needs. Besides, three Ts-30 soundproof call boxes are installed for the sales department, so that the sales staff can retain privacy when making business contacts. In this way, noise in the core section of the office can be effectively reduced. The call boxes can also tactfully define the work section and the lounging and dining space to keep out smells and reduce the volume of people talking.

The most elegant focal point is the spiral staircase, which has crude iron stairs covered by means of accurate calculation and refined woodwork, with artistic lines reshaping the atmosphere in the space, making it minimalist but not simple. Though only the height of a vertical ascending flow, this spiral stairway is a short flow serving as a sensual transition and places the surrounding catwalk and yoga-fitness space in the mezzanine. In so doing, when taking a rest, one feels like gliding in the air, making it possible to “pop out” and think outside the box to resolve challenges at work and settle back onto the ground.

The enterprise spirit of Ajinomoto is to add flavor to food, enhance health and promote quality of life. Space is the container of life and senses, and this office, by means of ergonomics, serves to create a wonderful, friendly, and quality space enriched with spatial rhythm.
