Nature's Waltz

Located in the Beitou Hot Springs area, this new residential building enjoys the unique geographic advantage of hot spring, but it also become the biggest challenge in the renovation process. The design of the residence follows the owner's background and aesthetic preferences, integrating the historical context of the external environment with the internalized life taste to construct a unique spatial story through sharp techniques and grand yet refined elements.

At first glance, the space seems to be in a Japanese style. The functional areas are separated by a dynamic grid wall that connects through light strips and presents a virtual-real parallel effect with the flat hidden door. The longest main wall spanning the entire space completely integrates the three-axis movement line of three entrances and exits along the vertical axis.

The open public area combines the living room and kitchen space. The field is implicitly divided by the combination of the pebble floor, metal decorative strips, and wooden floorboards. The large French windows bring in the lush greenery of the mountains outside, creating a watercolor-like layered and rich texture effect.

The living room and kitchen space are connected by a stylish fireplace that not only defines the functional area but also enhances the connectivity between the two. The dining area is centered around a central island bar and a six-person dining table, with an open kitchen design that allows the owner to have a panoramic view of the interior while cooking and enjoying the beautiful outdoor scenery.

The private areas are separated by a grid door, the Japanese-style hot spring room with a 7-layer waterproof-coating bathtub and high-tech fiber mats can also be used as a study or guest room. The selected materials are resistant to acid, alkali, and humidity for the high corrosiveness of the local spring. All the details are making a unique ritual of daily life and living feast.
