Though the family cannot always be united, as fish migrate to their native habitats during the seasons change, they always return eventually.

The courtyard is the soul of the house, and holds the spirit of the family, connecting the whole space and the relationships of the generations.

Home is the base where everything begins and coming home is a desire for every wonderer.

The five-storey building features one public area on the first floor, the parents’ bedroom on the second floor, the children’s and owner’s bedrooms both located on the fourth floor and the hall of worship on the fifth floor. The house is built with the elder in mind, a safe and peaceful living space, therefore, the design team has paid a special attention to barrier-free flow, and has created an accessible environment with bright lighting and safety rails.

Even though all family members have their own independent space, they can also build warm and strong connections and converse with each other across the staggered balconies that face the courtyard from each room. This allows the sunlight and breeze to flood into each room through the two sides windows, which creates a welcoming and comfortable ambience.

The townhouse was built surrounding the courtyard and there is another hidden and separate set of stairs leading to the elder’s room for security, which is the owner’s diligence. Although the owner is away from their parents, they can set their mind at rest and look forward to having the perfect retired life with family.
