The Grand Canal Asian Games Park

The Grand Canal Asian Games Park（Asian Game venue） is one of the first five new facilities for the 19th Asian Games in China. The lighting includes one table tennis stadium and one hockey stadium ,as well as the landscape and business in between.

Inspired from Chinese “jade cong”, the lighting for the table tennis stadium gives a terrific explanation of good lighting balance.

The structure of the double curved glass was lit up from inside sets the lyrical tone of the front side while high pole flood lighting adds the powerful and magnificent look to the metal back side. The roof was lit up smartly to connect the mental and glass side of the building ,which not only completes the night shape of the building, but also keep the artistic lighting balance of “empty and full” and reflects Chinese philosophy “yin and yang”

The hockey stadium looks like a Chinese umbrella put gently by the side of the grand cannel .The lighting vision for the hokey stadium is to give the warmth and potentials to the building. he stadium consists of huge steel structure and high light transmittance PTFE. The fixture was mounted in between structures which cast light accurately on each huge structure, and project the light gently on the PTFE. With the layers and depth of lighting ,The stadium is full of enthusiasm and grace in an artistic way. It can change colors and feeling for different games and occasions and certainly has become the “must-go” spot for local people

The lighting of the Grand Canal Asian Games park not only provides unforgettable night view of the park .but also gives good example of considerate architectural lighting ,at the same time found a good balance between people and light. More and more local people and tourists are gathering in the park to enjoy themselves at night.
