Ruralation Museum Hotel

The hotel is located in the Homo Erectus Fossil Site Park at a now unused quarry, which is to the
southwest of the park museum. The naked rock is the color of white cement made with volcanic
ash. These tones set the mood for the architectural concept.
Light leads guests up from the foot of the mountain, and some is purposely allowed to diffuse
onto the vegetation below. The sprawling plant cover of the mountain gives the space a wild
intrigue, perfectly accented with the bits of light flickering like fireflies in the wind. Within the
lush mountain landscape and under the obscure moonlight, the lights from rooms radiate warmly
and naturally onto the patios with olive trees.
Having abandoned the conventional idea of an overall image for the hotel, we set off the entire
exterior of the building with the darkness of its surroundings, allowing it to blend in with the
natural environment. The pure color of the light creates three axes in the architectural space to
guide the viewer's visual experience with dim light. By connecting people, the building, and
nature, we have made a place to experience a sense of spatial ceremony. For the interior, we
alternate between traditional low-warmth bulbs and LED lights, keeping the narrative diverse and
helping to create memories in a rich immersive experience. Purity, mystery, and romanticism
have offered a feeling of barrenness of the future, inspiring people to explore and experience.

The lighting at the Ruralation Museum Hotel is comparable to a life drawing of light. Light is
needed for life, and the moon is needed for romance. Here, the sky is red with mist at dawn and
dusk, and the sun shines brightly during the day, so even when you're at the Yunxi (which means
“clouds and dusk”), you can still enjoy beautiful sunshine. With the accompaniment of elegant
