Landscape Design of CSCEC Times Park

Unfolding the characteristics of the Times Park, this project intends to maximize the measure of the central ecological base and the essentiality and diversity of the functional sites in the outer rim, and forms living scenarios relating to humanity and ecology as two main clues. The vision of our design is to bring a park to community, allowing residents to live in the landscape. Entering the main entrance, it feels like a park. Inspired by “A Poetic Scroll of River Stream and Country House”, a painting work by the Ming Dynasty painter Dai Jin, the courtyard is an ensemble of five symbols - mountain, stream, waterfall, wood and stone. The landscape is designed with river flowing in a winding way, mountain and river, flat or sideway terrain, as if one is walking on the shade mountain trail and watching the scenery around. The gravel is connected to the other side of the river with the stream flowing through, creating a contrasting effect. Slightly rendered by green plants, the gravel is partly hidden and partly visible. The hotel-like reception lobby is ornamented by a special pavement and sculptured water scenes. The homecoming etiquette and reverence is relieved against the background of ginkgo forest. Some Chinese elements of the landscape parlor are expressed in a modern way, where overflows the beauty of “writing ideas”, a freehand technique of traditional Chinese painting. Infinite living space is thus created in the limited landscape coverage.
