Container housing design in Taichung has stirred up a trend in Taiwan recently, thus we have deliberately designed a container restaurant with high design sentiment by stacking 7 containers together; the design applied the “inverted T” arrangement approach, where the vertically rising container at the center resembles a lighthouse, making it the landmark for the entire Fengchia night city.
The base is a narrow and long piece of land featuring a width of 6m and a length of 27m, while the 218m2 golden street corner area appears exceptionally rare in Fengchia, such that the entire traffic flow in Fengchia may see the lighthouse of the container restaurant from afar.
Looking from the exterior, it seems to be an illuminating glass box at night, shining resplendent rays upon the Fengchia business district, demonstrating the obvious glass container body, making dining above also an experience of soaring in the sky, while the resplendent rays revealed at night allow the interior to appear more open.
Moreover, the central garden at the back is the circulation for the transparent staircase, lightly leaping at night, whereas the indoor space and the garden are visually closely connected, and by day, the garden is an ecological pond design enriched with green prosperity.
Upon entering, the dining space on the ground floor is divided into the front and the rear areas, while the center is the landscape garden, allowing each and every diner to admire magnificent green sceneries. Diners are seated on dark blue and pale blue petal-shaped seats, with Bianco Carrara Italian tiles and Angora Pearl stone tabletop to make the delicacies on the table appear more elegant and modern, such that the plates of delicious food resemble the models on the catwalk to dance on the dining plates.
We hope to subvert people’s cheap and cheesy concepts towards containers in general, thus the indoor ceiling applied white ocean waves as the design theme, such that the containers on the second floor appear to sail on top of the ocean with endless waves.
