Heart of the Bay Area

Cuiheng New District is the main battlefield for high-quality development in Zhongshan City, as well as a window and link connecting the country to internationalization. "Heart of the Bay Area" is an urban image sculpture that serves as the symbol of Cuiheng New District. It is creative and rich in content, showcasing the unique charm of the new district. "Heart of the Bay Area" includes a main sculpture and three subsidiary sculptures, consisting of four structures that are diverse and rich, providing both aesthetic enjoyment and cultural connotations. The main body of this sculpture is composed of a Möbius strip, and the flowing band symbolizes the sustainable development, vitality, and endless possibilities of the new district. The flowing band complements the shape of the Huangjin Inner Bay, showcasing the image of Cuiheng New District as the heart of the Bay Area. Meanwhile, the light and shadow processing highlights its important position for high-quality development in Zhongshan City. The design of the base fully embodies the characteristics of Zhongshan and the charm of China's Lingnan region. It is composed of three fan-shaped parts, showcasing its significance as the "gateway to the Bay Area" and closely combining with the theme of the new district. The cone-shaped design of the base is inspired by Chinese "spring bamboo shoots", implying that the city's development speed is as fast as bamboo shoots after a spring rain. The designers carefully selected high-quality stone and metal materials suitable for the local climate conditions, which can resist the corrosion of substances such as acid, alkali, and salt to some extent. Through precise mechanical analysis and fixing measures, the base is fixed with a reinforced concrete structure, and the sculpture is forged as a whole and installed on site through lifting, making the sculpture stable and greatly extending its life. This sculpture is not only a landmark building in Cuiheng New District, but also a symbol of the spirit and culture of the new district, showcasing the characteristics and charm of the new district, and representing the beautiful expectations for the future.
