The site is in Caotun Township, Nantou County, as a retirement home. The design team hopes to provide a comfortable living space for the occupants to enjoy the rest of their lives. The inspiration for the design came from the client's childhood memories. The wood and rattan restore the nostalgic impression, then the design team took the aesthetics of interweaving wood and rattan to form the project “wabi-sabi". At the same time, the design team combined the client's religious beliefs with the critical elements of daylight, space, and wood, shaping a harmonious lifestyle.
As for the layout, the design team arranged a suitable route plan, including a multi-functional open-plan Japanese room and a dining table with a side cabinet. Meanwhile, the design team appropriately reduced the sharp corners to make the visual experience comfortable, intuitive, and convenient.
