Suzhou SAKI Japanese restaurant soft decoration design

SAKI is a high-class Japanese restaurant located in Suzhou. The traditional Japanese style is integrated with new materials and new cultures to create novel art installations as embellishments, leading to an artistic dining space featuring profound Japanese culture and a sense of ritual. This project is a bold rebellion against its counterparts only bringing fleeting visual pleasure, which emotionally resonates with consumers via cultural charm and thus improves user experience.

The art installation in the entrance hall hangs from the ceiling, as if a real-life pagoda with its reflection in a parallel world was projected onto this space, thereby visually creating a dreamlike atmosphere to make a great impression; thanks to the traditional mortise-tenon technology and modern new materials, the pagoda model gives a sense of solemn and can act as a house guard. Taking “falling sakura” as the theme, the main part of the space adopts multi-media technology and the combination of light sources to simulate the scene of falling Sakura petals; the background of the bar counter (where consumers are served with sushi) replicates “Picture of Pine Forest” (the national treasure of Japan), while the works of art, with carp, mountains and withered trees as subjects, are used to decorate the private rooms. Such a dreamy space of the understated style provides an immersive experience, and contributes to emotional communication with users, so that they can fully enjoy Japanese cuisine. Another plus point should attribute to the central statue suspended in the air, which is a symbol of the new trend in current Japanese culture; the holy goddess in a seductive pose caters to aesthetic taste of consumers, and embodies the shame culture in Japan, redefining the spirit of modern Japanese restaurants.
