Armed Police Apartment Community Service Center

The Armed Police Apartment Community Activity Center is a node reconstruction and expansion part of the 2022 old residential reconstruction project in the new urban area of Hohhot. Located in the Apartment Yard of the Armed Police Corps in the east of Inner Mongolia University of Technology, the current construction site was originally a color steel car shed and two dilapidated buildings that were in disrepair. After many studies and judgments, it was decided to demolish and rebuild them to meet the new use needs.

The project land is located in the northwest corner of the residential area, facing the main road of the residential area. Under the limit of the last row of residential buildings, L-shaped construction land is formed. With its limited use of land, new bicycle sheds are arranged for the community's external services, leisure activities, property and other functional requirements.

The first floor of the activity center is equipped with two chess and card activity rooms, a library and an office, which are convenient for community staff to use and also provide a comfortable entertainment environment for residents.

The passage and corridor bring warmth and sufficient light through natural light. An outdoor garden is set along the wall at the end of the corridor, and the green plants add life and beauty. The stairs leading to the second floor create a streamline guide with a unique skylight.

A large activity room is set on the second floor, with uniform light and convenient for multiple functions. At the same time, an exit to the roof platform is set on the second floor, and a movable flower box and planting area are set on the roof for the elderly in the community to exchange activities and achieve the fun of flower cultivation and planting.

Through multiple functional settings and rich spatial levels, we strive to create a community gathering place with clear characteristics and rich experience, so that the scattered functions of the community (including property offices, bicycle sheds, etc.) can be orderly integrated into the overall space.
