Located in Putuo District, HUALUXE Shanghai Changfeng Park faces the Suzhou River to the south and Changfeng Park to the east, enjoying an optimal view of the lake. The project is a building renovation, and the limitations of the original building space, such as confusing circulation, low floor height, and poor view, become the biggest difficulty in this design. In addition, how to integrate the local culture and interpret the HUALUXE brand identity is also a focus of the design.
After several on-site inspections, we decided to
(1) Redesign the flow line and use design to solve the floor height: the loggia in the lobby was demolished to realize the 7.8-meter floor height; in the ADD, mirrored materials are used to give the space rich layers; the ceiling of the ballroom is dominated by lighting fixtures... Overall, reflective materials are often used to enrich the look and feel of the space.
(2) Use Chinese garden landscaping and view borrowing techniques to introduce more natural landscapes. For example, the LUXE TEA lobby bar features a small garden with hundreds of bamboo trees, representing the lifestyle of the literati. The guest room uses a full curtain glass window and a round mirror to give the room a view of Changfeng lake.
(3) Reflect the shape, momentum and charm of water in the overall space design. The entire interior has been ingeniously transformed to showcase the Oriental aesthetics in the HUALUXE Brand’s Era 2.0. In the lobby, a “tidal wave” surges on the wall. The artistic pendants are like a shoal of fish gathering in the air, stirring the invisible sea. Behind the reception desk, rice paper in two shades of red is overlaid on acrylic, depicting the glamorous sunrise at sea. The ADD is divided by turquoise screens. Super-long, ivory-white light fixtures in the ballroom mimic the convergence of rivers flowing towards the dome...
Since its opening, the hotel has become not only the place to launch the HUALUXE Brand 2.0, but also a hot spot for guests to experience contemporary aesthetic living with a new Shanghai style.
