Ode to Light

 The residents are entrepreneurs who work from home. The designers create a workspace that integrates into their daily routine for a smooth workflow. The designer incorporated two study areas into the communal living space. One boasts an intricate and practical design with glass sliding doors to separate it from the dining area. It offers them an independent, spacious, and private workspace.

 In today's rapidly changing world, work patterns and industries are evolving. As a result, it is crucial to create a workspace that does not interfere with other activities in the home, especially since more people are working from home. In this case, a couple both work from home, and the residential space was designed with the goal of creating a "workplace without interfering with each other." Furthermore, the designer recognized that the original study's layout was too extensive, which restricted movement lines in the public area. To rectify this issue, the original study wall was retracted to expand the activity area and improve the flow of movement lines.

The designer conducted a thorough analysis of the owner's lifestyle and specific requirements, creatively reconfiguring the space layout to incorporate two distinct office areas within the shared living space. This allowed the couple to have their own independent workspace while also providing a spacious and versatile activity area. To redefine the study space, the designer utilized a complex functional design approach, such as concealing the desk within a storage cabinet and implementing a full-opening glass sliding door to define a separate study room. These design choices enhance the flexibility of space usage, empowering the residents to shape their ideal living environment.
