For the scenography of the 2 new Cités des Climats et vins de Bourgogne, cultural and wine tourism facilities of worldwide interest dedicated to promoting Burgundy's history, heritage and wine-growing culture, ATELIERS ADELINE RISPAL designed a universe of geo-sensory strata to create both a unique immersive visitor experience, and to insert itself into the architecture of two very different buildings in Chablis and Macon while optimizing their constraints through design.

A 100% natural immersive and sensory tour:

The tour takes visitors on a multi-sensory journey through Burgundy, with ten islands in three main sequences. Along the way, visitors discover a story, interact with multimedia devices, smell the range of aromas and learn about wine. Each visit ends with an introduction to wine tasting from a selection of Burgundy’s wines.

A unique world of layers:

Immersion is total from the moment the visitor enters each site, thanks to a design that takes them on a journey through the different strata (of time, geology, climate, nature, history...) whose interrelationships express the complexity and beauty of Burgundy. Divided into three themed sequences, the tour takes the form of "core samples" showing the soil layers, and provides a rhythm to the visit through different forms of immersion and interaction.

A unique visitor experience:

Unlike traditional wine museums or scientific interpretation centers dedicated to viticulture, the visitor experience design here is unique: it is both a moment of introspection and an invitation to travel, a place of awareness and understanding, a rite of initiation and a sensitive decoder, a moment of sharing and a place of pleasure, a magical promotional tool and a sensitive tourist machine.

Sound envelopment:

Throughout the tour, the visitor is accompanied by a synchronized sound creation in all spaces. These sounds "enlarge the space", enhancing the visitor's sense of immersion and reaching all audiences.

Lighting design, an integral part of the sensory project:

In the main area, a large meteorological chandelier evokes the meteorological variations with which the winegrowers live. The actual movements of the clouds are translated into light variations in the LED tubes suspended above the visitors.
